Cloud Bread

My recipe of the week which has actually been around for a few years but has had some media attention this week for some reason so I thought I should give it a go! Normally it calls for 1/4 tsp or cream of tartar but I thought people were more likely to have white wine vinegar at hand. Cloud Bread is low carb and gluten free so on point with the food trends of the moment. With only 4 ingredients they are simple and cheap to make. BBC Radio Leicester with Ben Jackson

I had the pleasure of being featured on BBC Radio Leicester with Ben Jackson to talk about Bakery Cottage and how I have come to open my on-line bakery. The photo below is the raspberry brownie which Ben devoured with a cup of tea. I was slightly nervous before the recording but Ben did a great job of talking to me before the recording and putting me at ease before he started the interview. I really enjoyed talking with him and mostly forgot about the microphone which really surprised me as I tend to get incredibly shy when in the...

Naked Cakes

Here is a recent lemon and raspberry layered naked cake topped with rose and raspberry macarons. Naked Cakes are my new cake crush so to speak. I love how pretty they can be made with both tasty edible decorations such as macarons and fresh flowers studded all over them. I am a big fan of simple is best when it comes to cake. I like the main aim of a cake to be a tasty celebration which looks both tasty and pretty. I am not a fan of cakes weighed down with kilos of fondant even though some talented so...
