I had the pleasure of being featured on BBC Radio Leicester with Ben Jackson to talk about Bakery Cottage and how I have come to open my on-line bakery. The photo below is the raspberry brownie which Ben devoured with a cup of tea.
I was slightly nervous before the recording but Ben did a great job of talking to me before the recording and putting me at ease before he started the interview. I really enjoyed talking with him and mostly forgot about the microphone which really surprised me as I tend to get incredibly shy when in the spot light. Listen to the interview here to find out about what we spoke about. I have been baking for a long time now, mostly just for pleasure.
I began baking 'professionally' when I worked at Caffe and Deli Italia in Melton Mowbray many years ago. I then went on to bake for 3 other Delicatessens and managed the final one. Since having Edith after lots of thought I decided it best for our family to try and make Bakery Cottage work for us so I could continue to care for my daughter from home. This is proving quite a challenge whilst she is teething especially - pesky teeth!
I am trying to build my blog here and will be posting some savoury and sweet recipes in amongst my blog posts about Bakery Cottage and food I love!
